Mit ArKaos VJ erzeugen so genannte Video-Jockeys effektvolle Video-Präsentationen für Konzerte, Diskotheken und Live-Performances. Die Software mischt Videomaterial von Festplatte, Webcam und anderen Videoquellen in Echtzeit zu einem individuellen Mix und passt die gewünschte Musik dazu an.
Sobald man einen Video-Beamer an den Rechner anschließt, beginnt das multimediale Erlebnis. ArKaos VJ MIDI übernimmt das Kommando und passt das eingespielte Material automatisch den eigenen Vorgaben entsprechend an die Musik an. Alternativ spielt man über ein angeschlossenes MIDI-Keyboard in Echtzeit dazu. Dabei stehen mehr als 60 Effekte bereit, die man beliebig manipuliert und untereinander kombiniert.
ArKaos VJ unterstützt alle gängigen Video- und Bildformate, darunter BMP, JPG, AVI, MOV und MPG. Anhand eines so genannten Beat-Mappers lassen sich zudem die Übergänge zwischen zwei Songs exakt aufeinander abstimmen.
